If you consult the mighty Google, you’ll find that there are over 4.5 BILLION results for “how to buy a home”, however there are only about a third as many results for “how to sell a home”, and most of those don’t even really talk about the actual process of selling a home. I think there is a huge need for education on this process, so I’m attempting to fill that need through an 8-Blog series that I’m calling THE SELLING EXPERIENCE. Each blog pulls from my 16 years of experience and the systems and practices I’ve developed and refined during this time.

I’ve broken The Selling Experience into 7 phases, with an 8th that goes into the more complicated Sell One – Buy One process that I’m very proud of. Here’s what you can expect to see over the next 8 weeks:

The Selling Experience #1: Market Analysis and Pricing– also known as what your neighbor did to you.

The Selling Experience #2: Home Preparation– everything you need to know about getting your home market ready, but were afraid to ask.

The Selling Experience #3: The Paperwork– nothing is done till the paperwork is signed. This high-level blog explains the different types of documents you’ll be signing.

The Selling Experience #4: Target Market and Marketing Plan– my thoughtful plan for finding the right buyer for your home.

The Selling Experience #5: On The Market!– this is when stuff gets real. Showings. Open Houses. Buyers. Oh my!

The Selling Experience #6: You’ve Got an Offer!– happy dance, happy dance.

The Selling Experience #7: Contract to Close to Celebration– where the rubber meets the road, and frankly the period where I’m taking the most Tums.

The Selling Experience #8: Sell One – Buy One – the more complex process of selling a home and buying a home at the same time. Move is a 4-letter word.

So, read on, and let me know what you think. I’d love the feedback!
